During pregnancy, your body carries 2–3 extra litres of fluid in your interstitial tissues. This can cause symptoms such as -

Returning to exercise after pregnancy requires more than simply getting back into training - it requires expert guidance, rehabilitation and a personalised approach that supports recovery, confidence, and long-term health. At Run Serve Health Physiotherapy, our postnatal return to exercise and fitness package is designed to help women safely rebuild strength, function and performance following childbirth.
In this unique collaboration between Leah and Vicki, you will have an initial appointment with Leah, our women’s health specialist, to include:
· Detailed discussion around your pregnancy, birth and postpartum goals
· Pelvic floor assessment, feedback and treatment
· Abdominal assessment for diastasis recti
· C-section scar review and treatment (if required)
Your second appointment will be an hour of one-to-one specialist clinical Pilates with senior physiotherapist Vicki. The information gained in your initial physiotherapy appointment will be used to guide and enable Vicki, alongside her own assessments, to create and provide a bespoke exercise Pilates-based regime. This will be demonstrated and discussed with you enabling an increase in confidence and return to sport and exercise.
